Sometimes it is hard, this walking by faith. Sometimes I do not understand the plans God has for me. Understanding is something God doesn't promise, nor always choose to give. Sometimes he doesn't reveal it to you in the time you would desire. Sometimes you just have to walk by faith.
"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our tresspasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which He has set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth." Ephesians 1:7-10
Sometimes we have to suffer. Sometimes it is not our "fault" and sometimes it is. Following God brings suffering and trials. We will suffer as Christ did. Christ however, was sinless and above reproach, yet He chose to take on our pain so that we might begin to fully understand the sacrifice He paid that we might have life.
" Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And "if the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good."
1 Pet. 4:12-19
Sometime God asks us to walk through fire that our faith may be refined for His glory. In those moments we can do nothing but trust Him. Trust His plan, His mercy, His saving grace. Realize that this walk is not for ourselves, but for His glory.
"So that the tested genuineness of your faith- more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire- may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Pet. 1:7
Sometimes God sends the fire when we least expect it, or feel unprepared. God has a purpose, and a plan, even in the timing.
"And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14
Sometimes we feel all alone, like there is no one to help us through the fire. Dear friends, if you follow Christ you are never alone. He is walking with you.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be in fear or dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
Sometimes it is easier to say (or write) than to believe. Sometimes I know in my heart all these things, but my mind still fails to grasp the bigger picture of God's will. Sometimes I just have to trust Him, right now, in this moment.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." Prov. 3:5-6
