A little bit of Derby crazy

Last weekend eyes were on Louisville, it was Derby time. When it is Derby time this city springs to life and gets a little crazy. As in a month full of festivities. We live incredibly close to Churchill Downs and that means many instances of heavy traffic, closed roads, and disturbed sleep.

I will admit that with the little people in my house this is not my favorite thing. Maybe one day when we can enjoy it together, and are a little better in the sleep department ;)

This year my Great Aunt and Uncle, and their daughter (my second cousin?) we're in town for the race. We enjoyed a little visit, and some serious puppy love!

Then we hunkered down and stayed home!

We cleared some stuff in the basement, discovered a nearly rusted through pipe, and did a little kitchen demo. Now if I can just keep Emma Grace from eating falling sheet rock until we've finished renovating!
