January 2014

Oh sweet January, you have been rough, yet so full of blessings all at the same time. Oi.

One of my biggest fears has been our current single car which happens to be non 3rd row car seat compatible. Lets not mention that we literally own the largest car seats on the market, seriously ya'll. With the order of only one super slim car seat we can fit ALL THREE kids in the car. That is super good news friends as there was no money for a second car, and serious prayers going up that we wouldn't have to spring for 3 new car seats. The kiddo's are happily riding side by side, well unless sister puts her foot in Aiden's face :)

My sweet Emma Grace still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Seriously, when will it end? Though I can't say that her adventure pouring a mouthful of salt was something she found joy in. Poor thing (hide laugh).

Against Mommy's will we have entered the world of potty training yet again. She was DETERMINED it was time. Stripping clothes, climbing up all on her own, it was useless to say I wasn't ready. We have discovered much along the way, like the fact that they don't make underwear tiny enough for little bitty petite girls who decide that a mere 19 months is a good time to potty train. She is doing great, and Mommy is hanging in there!

My ever creative little guy has taken to making pirate ships, hiding "treasure," and all manners of good boy things. I love his sense of adventure and creativity even on those exhausting days when I don't know if I can keep up with the somewhat messy aftermath.

The biggest mess in our house always seems to be books. I am NOT complaining. They both have a love for books and much of our day is spent reading. Snuggling up with "Go Dog Go" for the 10th time in a day is certainly one of my favorite things.

Poor baby girl always gets sick like she means it. A simple cold carries a 102 fever and she lays around for days. One day recently found me snuggled up with both kids on the couch for 11 straight hours, if you have ever met my son you will understand just how SICK that is. I loved the quiet slow snuggly day despite the pitiful little ones at my side.

Immediately following our week of illness Daddy had big meetings at work. That translated to 2 straight weeks without access to a car. We went just a little stir crazy. Okay a LOT stir crazy. Mommy attempted to pull out some new tricks to keep everyone happy. Picnic lunch in a fort? YES!

We are well once again and settling back into our normal routine. One of our winter favorites has become a weekly trip to Chickfila for tater tots and playground time. Warm cozy energy release for only $3 is something that is worth its weight in gold at this crazy house. Spring, we are ready for you!
