We declared a pumpkin day in our little house. We cooked and puréed fresh pumpkin, colored a pumpkin, made pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread too!
We made the executive decision not to drive to the farm but go to a local "pumpkin patch" instead. October has been crazy stressful and it was more important to have a fun family day that was laid back than to achieve the perfect picture at the farm. It was a simple parking lot with donated oddly shaped pumpkins and all the proceeds went to charity. It was perfect. Aiden loved running to his hearts content and enjoyed choosing a huge oval pumpkin that weighed about as much as he did!
We finished the day painting pumpkins. Aiden LOVED it. Mommy however should have done more than 30 seconds of research on pumpkin painting in the Walmart parking lot. They are not waterproof and are living on my kitchen table until I can figure out what to do. Two giant pumpkins and hardly room to eat.
This is what memories are made of!
