Just a little Friday afternoon drive...

Today we hopped in the car for a drive. Our goal was to drive through Massachusetts and into Vermont. We love driving and exploring and the great thing about being "up North" is that the states are so small that we can easily go from one to the other. We haven't been to either Massachusetts or Vermont, so hey why not?

We passed over the Connecticut River which F.Y.I. is not normally so large!

We made it into Massachusetts within 15 minutes...

Then we decided we needed a McDonalds break. What we didn't know was that it would become a twenty minute drive through this tiny town. We passed some lovely houses, navigated very strange roadways, and saw lots of pedestrians shopping down the quaint streets. We finally found McDonalds and with smoothie in hand we were on our way!!!

At this point we decided to turn around as we were still more than 30 minutes from Vermont and didn't want to push naptime since Aiden hadn't taken his morning nap. We happened to turn around at an exit that contained the Yankee Candle Flagship Store. I didn't know such a thing existed so a simple please had us pulling over to "just take a picture" or explore. It was huge and awesome and very strongly scented. The place reminded me of the Christmas Village in the Smokies.

We saw giant lego men and played on boats...

Daddy thought we should play with ALL the toys...

Thanks Yankee Candle for an unexpected adventure!
