It all started fine, as they normally do, and then it went downhill fast! The downward spiral started around 3pm and looked something like this...
This is not Aiden's usual way of doing things. It was insane, so much so that for just a moment around dinner time it became slightly amusing. So Daddy got in the floor and joined in the scream-fest. Mommy found it so very amusing, Aiden did NOT.
He was still pitching fits at 8pm when I put him to bed. Yes you read that right, a joyful 5 hours of almost constant screaming and whining. It was a total battle of wills, with him becoming angry over every thing that he wasn't allowed to do, pushing every rule he could think of in existence. Rough times.
Then the hysteria began. Apparently putting him to bed was the final straw. He hardly ever makes a peep when put to bed, last night he screamed. I actually went in and rocked him for a few minutes and gave him a banana in case he was hungry.
It soon became clear that the truth of the matter was he wanted to play instead of sleep. He became so hysterical that he literally gagged. Luckily it calmed him down enough to prevent an even bigger problem.
About 9pm as I was in his room yet again Daddy came home in a flurry. He had walked home from a work party just around the corner and his phone had been stolen. Sadly it was one of those expensive smart phones, which we could do without, the fact that it had one touch access to all our accounts without requiring a password, that was NO GOOD. In a flurry to wipe the phone remotely we discovered the software had been downloaded but somehow was not active. Yay. We were able to change the password for our log in system which will hopefully prevent access from all our accounts.
In all the hubaloo Aiden got his hearts desire and played until 10 before going to bed, oops. At that point the police were on their way to file a report and our cop buddy had been contacted and was in action. A long night of calls to Verizon to suspend service, filing reports, and general mayhem ensued. We went to bed VERY late.
Then Aiden woke up pretty much on the hour every hour ALL NIGHT LONG. To say we are walking zombies this morning is an understatement. So much so that my sweet husband did not go in to work, no one wants a nurse that hasn't slept. No one.
Yet today is a new day, and we are determined it will be a grand one!
All I can say is UGH.
