One of those Days...

Do you ever have one of those days? You know the ones. They start out all fluffy and pretty and end up not quite the way you planned. Sometimes they can wear you out.

Yesterday was one of those days.

We started out in a great mood, super cute. Then we took a nap.

Maybe you can say we woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe it was just one of those downhill days. Let me elaborate...

1. Shortly after nap we had a explosive diaper. I will just leave it at that.

2. In the thirtyish minutes of cleaning following point 1 he managed to drink a sippy of milk that left me questioning. We had a bad experience with "old" milk on a trip home and while I was 90% sure that he would be fine that 10% left me apprehensive to drive to the farther organic grocery. We had tried the close one the day before but their power was out. Our grocery situation was getting sad.

3. We would have simply staid home but Aiden was extra loud and keeping him quiet enough for Shem to sleep before work has always been a source of stress. So we wasted most of the afternoon at Target. We also spent more than intended :(

4.Just after I put Aiden down for his 3:00 nap Shem woke up, which is about 2 hours early on his work nights. He peeked in on Aiden before going back to bed. Aiden decided that meant playtime. Aiden did NOT take an afternoon nap. Daddy did NOT go back to sleep.

5. Due to point number 2 dinner had to be revamped so we used our hurricane stash of less than desirable foods and had canned Ravioli. The one bite Aiden attempted to eat managed to catapult off his spoon and land just on the other side of the runner protecting the carpet in our dining area. The carpet is neon orange and looks like that is how it shall stay.

6. We went to the pool as I knew I would not be able to keep him happy at home after Daddy went to work. It was ICE COLD. We only lasted about 20 minutes and needed to burn at least 45 more before bedtime. So we took a LONGGGGGGGGG hot bath. Translate that to it seemed like an eternity but on arriving downstairs we discovered it was really only 10 minutes. Really?

7. Aiden cried out in his sleep off and on all night. He seems fine, probably just over tired. Yet I have gotten used to actually sleeping through the night after 20 months of restless baby all night long. It is hard to go back even just for one night.

Yeah yesterday was simply one of THOSE days. I am so grateful that each day we get a fresh start. Here is hoping today is a breath of fresh air!
